Jared R. Gainey is an attorney at Douglas Law Firm whose practice focuses on civil litigation and government law. With a diverse legal background spanning prosecution, private practice, and municipal government, Jared brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to representing clients and helping them navigate complex legal matters.

Originally from Gainesville, Florida, Jared earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Florida in 2015 before going on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2018. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Jared began his legal career as a prosecutor for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, where he handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases in Marion and Citrus Counties. During that time, he gained extensive courtroom and trial experience while advocating on behalf of the community.

After serving as a prosecutor, Jared entered private practice in Ocala, handling a broad range of civil litigation and transactional matters. Most recently, he served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Ocala, where he managed the City’s civil litigation matters, represented the City in state and federal court, advised City officials and the Ocala Police Department on legal issues, and served as board attorney for several City advisory boards.

Outside the office, Jared is actively involved in his church, where he regularly teaches Bible classes and serves as a teen minister. He and his wife, Kinley, have three children: Redmon, Josie, and Sadie. In his free time, Jared enjoys Florida Gator athletics, fishing, exercising, spending time outdoors, and being with his family.
