Michael P. Felicetta brings nearly 20 years of litigation and trial experience to Douglas Law Firm. Before joining the firm, Mike spent much of his career in public service, most recently serving as Chief of the Orlando Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

Throughout his career, Mike has handled hundreds of cases and tried more than 70 cases before state and federal juries. As a federal prosecutor, he handled complex matters involving fraud, money laundering, narcotics, violent crime, national security, cybercrime, and other sophisticated investigations. He also briefed and argued matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before entering federal service, Mike served as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie County, New York, where he ultimately served as Chief of the Felony Trials Bureau and Chief of the Major Crimes Bureau. His experience there included more than 50 felony jury trials, including 10 murder trials.

Mike has also spent years teaching and training attorneys and law enforcement professionals. He has served as an instructor at the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Advocacy Center and has taught federal prosecutors, law enforcement officers, attorneys, judges, and law students on trial advocacy and other areas of criminal law.

Mike’s interest in becoming an attorney began with his father, a laborer and union representative whom he watched advocate for the rights and benefits of his fellow workers. That experience shaped Mike’s belief that anyone facing a legal dispute deserves someone in their corner who will listen, understand the details, prepare thoroughly, and advocate for them. He brings that same collaborative approach to his work with clients today.

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg before earning his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2006. While in law school, he received the Robert J. Connelly Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Mike now lives in Windermere with his wife, Kelly, and their three sons. Outside the office, he enjoys boating, skiing, traveling, attending live sporting events, exploring Orlando’s restaurant scene, and spending time with his family and their Goldendoodle, Libby.
